Paph. concolor flowering soon. Plants of concolor comes in various leaf form.

Paph. praestans flower buds opening soon.

Very beautiful sight. The bellina in front has opened.

To see some of the other plants and fruits in my garden:-

Ventricularia tenuicaulis

The flower of Ventricularia tenuicaulis is very small.
This plant was collected from a logging site in k.tinggi by my Canadian friend. It is a very graceful plant which almost seems to be flowing with the wind.

Very unique and interesting plant which is always in flower.

Bulbophyllums

B. lasiochilum. From Chatuchak market. Fragrance similar to Dendrobium anosmum. One of few Bulbophyllums with pleasant fragrance.

This morning i attached some B. medusae to a wooden log. They had overgrown their fern bark at my backyard.

Plant of B. gracillimum. There are three separate clumps attached to this fern bark. All from Chatuchak.

Close-up of B. gracillimum, not fully open yet.

Seed pod of B. gracillimum from a previous flowering.

Plant of B. vaginatum collected from a felled tree in the middle of Upper Bukit Timah road to make way for a pedestrian bridge. This specimen has longer narrower leaves than the specimen collected from cluny area. I also found another Bulbophyllum growing amongst the vaginatum. This specimen has no pseudobulb. It still hasn't flowered so i hope it can be a surprise when it does flower.

Flower of B. vaginatum from Upp. Bukit Timah. The lateral sepals of this specimen is much longer than the cluny specimen.

Plant of B. vaginatum collected from cluny area.

Notice how much broader is the leaf. At first i thought that the difference was due to different cultural conditions such as light intensity and feeding but after growing them for more than five years, it seems that the difference might be genetic. I will post the flower from this plant when it flowers or when i can find my old photos.

Coelogyne

Coelogyne celebensis plant. The plant has big, palm-like leaves and comes from indonesia. Almost every flower results in a seed pod. I have problem keeping the flower because it often gets eaten by a big black warsp soon after it opens.

Coelogyne celebensis flower.

Coelogyne fimbrata. Much smaller plant and flower than celebensis. Does not seem to form seed pods as easily as celebensis.

This is the same flower of fimbrata.

Dendrobiums

Den. farmeri var. album, close up. This plant is from my friend in Penang. Mr. Lim Song.

The entire inflorescence.

Den. rosellum

Close-up of Den. rosellum

Den. distichum, always in flower.

Den. grande. This plant was collected from a logging site in k.tinggi. Attached to the trunk where this plant came from was also a Flickingeria, a Grastidium and a Preatia so small that the entire plant with flowers and seed-pods fitted inside a 1cm by 1cm square. I tried very hard to keep the Preatia alive but it died eventually.

The plant of Den. grande.

Phal. Seletar Tiger, Phal. Penang violacea, Phal.cornu-cervi

Phal. cornu-cervi with inner half of lateral sepal without markings. Somebody told me that this type of flower form is not really that rare. It is a typical form in a certain region in thailand. ?True ??
This is the dark form from Mr. David Lim, the Darkstar variety.

This is the flower that i selected from a batch of normal form.

Phal.amboinensis, Phal.cornu-cervi, Phal.Ambonosa, Phal. Princes Kaiulani

A very good specimen of Phal. amboinensis. I bought this plant from a collector.
This is the flower of Phal. amboinensis 'flava', the albino form of amboinensis. The plant is shown below.

This is the flower of Phal. cornu-cervi which has dark flowers. It was selected among a batch of normal form. It is seen here among some basil leaves.

Although the flowers are dark, this plant is very different from the Darkstar variety from Mr. David Lim.

This is the flower of Phal. Princess Kaiulani obtained by crossing the albino form of violacea(now call bellina), with the albino form of amboinensis. This particular cross originated from Mr. Low Moi Hwa.

This is a Phal. Ambonosa from Penang.

This is a very stunning hybrid which i managed to get from Mr. Low MH.

Phal. Bellina in my collection.

#1

These come from various sources. Like most collectors i prefer those with good form, rounded and no inward curved "legs". The albas shown here are the better ones in my collection.

Paph.rothschildianum, Paph.philippinense, Paph.haynaldianum

Paph. rothschildianum, flowered last year. Very big plant, robust, full of life and produces stunning flowers.
The same plant flowered again this year but with 2 spikes.

Paph. philippinense. Another paph that is sure to flower at least twice a year. This one is stated as variety roebelinii when i bought it.

Paph. haynaldianum. It was still young and had only one growth, labelled as P.philippinenses when i bought it. What a surprise!!! Very free flowering. Up till today, every new growth guarentees a flower spike.

This is the flower you see to the right side of the haynaldianum. This is a primulinum hybrid.
