Paphiopedilum exul

Paph exul is another slipper orchid from thailand that blooms readily in Singapore. I repotted this plant more than a year ago(I think) but it hasn't re-flowered until recently. I was quite reluctant to divide the plant so i merely changed the medium which in my opinion was breaking down. Many paph growing books suggest that the medium be replaced and the plant divided regularly to prevent the plant from dying due to change in root PH as a result of medium breakdown.

Dendrobium anosmum.

Usually the two types of Den. anosmum don't flower together in my place but this time they are all in flower.

The pure white form of Den. anosmum is also very pretty and smells exactly the same as the normal type.

Coelogyne celebensis

This huge Coelogyne flowers all the time but i never get tired of the flowers. It is truely a majestic plant with huge pseudobulbs as well as flowers. Compared to Coelogyne mayeriana, this plant is easier to manage because the pseudobulbs are very close to each other and does not have a rambling habit. C.mayeriana produces long rhizomes almost a foot in length while climbing up trees.

Paphiiopedilum philippinense and rothschildianum

This pot of Paph. philippinense produced another flower spike after december and the flowers are in bloom now. At about the same time Paph. rothschildianum also produced a flower spike. Now both of the plants are in bloom.

Variation in Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi 'Red'

This plant was among the cornu-cervi 'Red' which i bought from HS nursery in the hope of getting a pure red form. As it turned out, the flowers on this plant showed bars similar to the regular cornu-cervis instead of a pure color.
