Phal. cornu-cervi and Hen

There is a hen under the cornu-cervi. She chose one of the pots and basically pulled out everything in her way, created a depression and started doing her job.

This is her boyfriend and guardian.

The guardian taking a look at her progress.

The reasons for all the commotion.

Paph. rothschildianum spiking!!!

The recent rain led to cooler nights (23 deg) and the rothschildianum responded by producing a flower spike. There are a few new growths but only the one at the back is spiking.

Paph. Shireen

The flower bud of Paph. Shireen begun to open a few days ago. This plant is very free flowering.

The flower opened fully yesterday. The sepal has very nice clean stripes.

New Hybrid from MH nursery

This new hybrid from MH Nursery flowered again a few days ago. Pictures of the flower from the first flowering was posted a few months back. This is the second flowering.

This phal has very strong amboinensis 'flava' influence.

Phal. amboinensis 'flava' in flower

Three of my amboinensis 'flava' plants are in flower recently. This one's got bigger flowers.

This is another plant. The recent cool spell may have triggered the flowering.

This plant only has a single flower.

Updates on Paph. glanduliferum

The new flower spike developed buds a few weeks ago. As usual, the flower stalk is very thick compared with its cousin Paph. praestans. The plant is still very vigorous though this is the second flowering stalk it is supporting.

This is the side view of the flower which opened a week ago. I am only posting it now cos i have been too busy.

The front view of the flower.

Paph. leucochilum

This is either a godefroyae or leuchochilum. I tend to think it is a leucochilum with spotted lips. I have another with the typical pure white lip in flower but the pouch was damaged by a snail so it is not as beautiful.

Newly acquired Paph.bellatulums.

These are a few bellatulums that i purchased from a local nursery recently. All of them are of good shape and looking at the potting material being used (c0c0husk), i would say they come from Thailand. Most of the plants from thailand nowadays are nursery raised stock with good form and color.

Another flower with good form and color.
I like the spots.

This one is hiding in the pot.

Paph concolor

Paph concolor from CTC market 2 years ago. This plant is quite vigorous, typical of concolors.
