Paph. parishii

This is a newly acquired Paph. parishii. My colleague had one which flowers all year round. Hope this one is the same.

Paph. haynaldianum fully opened.

The fully opened Paph. haynaldianum.

Paph.concolor alba and Paph. angthong

The Paph. concolor alba just opened. This plant is almost 10 years old.

This is the close-up of the flower of concolor alba.

This is a newly acquired Paph. angthong. Very similar to the concolor alba except areas such as leaf shape, flower stalk thickness, position of the staminode and the way the petals are being carried. The angthong is closer to niveum except the stalk length.

Paph. glanduliferum, Hsinying Hybrid and haynaldianum

The first flower on the spike of Paph. glanduliferum is at about half the length of the leaf.

The second flower just opening.

The second flower on the flower spike.

The second flower of glanduliferum is fully opened.

This is a beautiful Maudiae type hybrid Paph. Hsinying X Hsinying Majukun bought from WL while still budding.

The haynaldianum flower is finally going to open.

A closer glimpse of the haynaldianum flower. It should open fully in a day's time.

Another Phal.bellina, Penang Violacea and bellina alba

This is another of Mr. Lim Song's bellina. This bellina was grown from seedling and one of its parents is bellina 'Giant'. The other parent is another of Mr. Lim's big flowered bellinas.

This is the top-cut section of Phal. Penang violacea producing its first flower after the operation.

The plant of Phal. bellina is now carrying 6 flowers.

Trias picta and Bulbophyllum lasiochilum

Trias picta is another free flowering plant. It is mounted simply on a small piece of wood. The plant looks like Bulbophyllum.

B. lasiochilum flowered again. It has very nice citrus scent. It flowered a few months ago and produced a seed pod. Did not photograph it.

Paphs opening soon

A few paphs are spiking now. In fact haynaldianum spiked first then i realised that the glanduliferum had secretly thrown out a spike as well. Concolor soon joined the race.

A few days later.

haynaldianum is slowwww.

Paph. glanduliferum is fast!!!

Concolor alba is finally spiking again after re-potting a few months back.

Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi, violacea alba

This is another cornu-cervi with no markings on lateral sepal. This plant stopped for a while but resumed flowering recently. I keep about four different plants of this nature. This form is known as "burma" form by some.

This is a recently acquired violacea alba. The form is close to the malayan type.
(Amendment: 21/6/2008).
Hairs seen on side of lip>> doubtful
true alba. Probably Penang violacea.

Recently, the weather has gone from really warm to a bit cooler so some plants are flowering although not as good as in the beginning of the year.

Phal. bellina alba

The plant is almost ten years old.

Individual flower of bellina alba

This is Phal. Princess Kaiulani alba, flowering again.

I thought that this is Phal. Hew Choi Sin cos i got a few similar plants from Moi Hwa on the same day. I checked with him again and confirmed that this is actually Phal. Gelblieber.

Bulbophyllum allenkerrii

Bulbophyllum allenkerrii which i bought from CTC market a year ago. There were many individual plants in a heap so i bought the whole lot and mounted them onto a large fern bark. They flowered once in the beggining of the year but not spectacular cos not all the bulbs flowered. This time, all the bulbs are flowering so i can see that some have pinkish hue while others are yellowish.

In the beginning, not quite sure whether it is flower spike or new growth.

Confirmation of flowers.

The pinkish and yellowish types.
