This is a very red variety of Phal. violacea which i bought from Joseph Wu many years back. Of course came with a hefty price tag. But the color and form of the flower is superb. Good stock for producing intense colored hybrids but nowadays it is easy to get these hybrids for a couple of tens of dollars.
Growing Paphiopedilums or Paphs is my main hobby. I also grow many other orchids such as phalaenopsis, dendrobium, coelogyne etc.

The season for Cymbidiums
The recent rainy spell after the hot month of April may have triggered some Cymbidiums into producing their long awaited flower spikes. Some have actually started to flower since 2 weeks ago.
