Paph. 'Claire de Lune'

Paph 'Claire de Lune' is an old Maudiae type hybrid. It is a huge plant with big flowers and beautiful leaves. Just checked the label again and yes this is the award winning 'Edgar Van Belle' AM/AOS.

  1. I was so hoping that you would be the new owner of one of these lovelies!!

My wonderful Maudiae "The Queen" is valiantly trying to recover from a bad spidermite attack...fingers crossed...

  2. Yes, those pesky spider mites got me really frustrated and i had to use lots of nisurul and omite to get rid of them. Recently however they have almost disappeared without me using any miticides at all. The reason is the appearance of a type of tiny web-spinnig colonies of spiders. They are not as small as the mites cos you can see them with your eyes and they are greyish brown in colour. I used to hate the sight of them and spray insecticides on them until someone told me to leave them alone cos they are the mites' natural enemies. It works!!

  3. Yes I have managed to clear my mite problem with sprayings of Ivory Dishwashing Liquid...it works :) And its biodegradable and safe on skin.

  4. Interesting. I've never tried using soap although i've read the recommendation in some books. If i see mites again i'll try it out. What's the dilution ratio?
