Cymbidium ensifolium

At last year's Garden Festival, i bought 4 plants of cymbidium ensifolium. Then i bought a cymbidium pot from WL nursery and put every plant in it because i was running out of space. There is an expensive variegated leaf type var. "Jin Qi 锦旗", one alba var. "Rui Yu" and two normal types var. "Rainbow 彩虹" and "馬尾爪". Three flower spikes appeared recently and they are so beautiful.
This is the flower spike of Jin Qi.
Even the petals and sepals have a white border. The leaves are very ornamental, with their white veins running the whole length of the leaf. This seems to be a unique form of 锦旗.

This is another flower spike of Jing Qi.

This is the normal type which is also very beautiful. It is Cym. ensifolium "Rainbow".

A closer look at the flower of "Rainbow" and i took a video clip just to show how big the plant is.

  1. Hey there Joe,
Nice looking plants! Does this species require a cold dip in order to bloom properly?
    Thanks
