This is my Phal Penang violacea flowering again after i rescued it from certain death. You can see that the old leaves are still showing scars from fungal attack but the new leaf is shining new. The culprit - rain. I observe that plants kept in shade are free from this scaring whereas plants exposed to rain develop soft spots turning black and then they become a black scar.
Flushing the plants after a rain helps to reduce this but we can't be around after every rain to do it. The only solution i think is to put a plastic cover over the top.
